If you are outside of the United States, please contact Eye Response Technologies directly or your local distributor concerning funding opportunities.The US government revised its Medicare policy to allow funding of speech generating devices for qualifying individual on January 1, 2001. However, under this revision they chose to exclude computer based devices that also provide functionality other than communication. The ERICA Dedicated System satisfies the Medicare funding requirements because it does not allow the user to access any non-communication functions of the hardware or software.
The only difference between the ERICA Standard System and the ERICA Dedicated System is that weve locked the dedicated system to prevent users from accessing anything other than our ERICA Keyboard communication software. It is a truly dedicated communication aid that cannot be used for other purposes.
